Synthesis and characterization of nickel nanoparticles formed by solution cold plasma jet

Abstract In this work, nickel nanoparticles were prepared from chloride solution using the liquid phase plasma reduction technique. A cold jet was used for purpose. The variation of concentrations 0.5mM, 1mM and 2 mM to study optimal condition formation. concentration 1 ml observed be best, by UV-Vis spectroscopy Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). optimum formation with exposure time at (5 min, 10 15 min ) respectively. results shown nanoparticle peaks produced surface plasmon absorption around 365-375 nm according discharge plasma. spherical homogenous as (FESEM) which also average particle size about 25nm, dynamic light scattering (DLS) zeta potential (ZP) measurements non-aggregated in long term, particles are very stable colloid, no visible aggregation have been seen on samples (1mM). contrast other showed a nonhomogeneous morphology aggregated. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) that NiNPs face-centered cubic (FCC) structure crystalline 12.5 nm, Inductively Coupled Plasma mass Spectrometry (ICP-mass) characterize samples.
